Flooded - Again!

Pearl: Mommy has a whole new excuse, shesh, that woman will do anything to get out of helping us visit our friends! Now she's "saying" that the yard is flooded again.

Bert: Um, Pearl, the yard really is flooded again. See...

Pearl: Oh, well, then I guess it's an ok excuse.

Bert: Yeah, I think we're gonna be a bit busy for a while! So we want to take a quick minute to say Happy Valentines Day to all our friends and of course our sweeties Dante, Tazo and Queen Snickers!

Happy Birthday My Sweet!

I am so excited that yesterday was my sweet girlfriend cat's Purrthday today! Of course her sisfurrs are threw her a wonderful party over on her bloggie, so I wanted to something special for her. So now that the party is over I am whisking the lovely Queen Snickers away for a romantic weekend in Paris!

Here we are in front of the Eiffel Tower:

We'll sight see around Paris, see the Louvre, purrhaps the the Arc de Triomphe...

We'll stop for a late lunch at a romantic Parisian Cafe:

Then we'll drive down to Versailles and tour the beautiful garden and grounds (maybe do a little hunting).

And then of course, a bed fit for a queen (Queen Snickers that is :-)!

I certainly hope that she has a wonderful time!!!!

Gotcha!

It's my Gotcha Day-aversary! Two years ago my Mommy and Daddy came with their friend Miss V (who has always really wanted a kitten, but her Mom and Dad are allergic) to get me!

The nice Shelter Lady knew that Mommy and Daddy were looking for a new Tuxie Boy "B" kitty, so when my friend "Cash" and I came to the shelter, she called them right away. And the very next Saturday Mommy, Daddy and Miss V got in the car and drove to find the right kitty.

When they walked in Mommy knew right away, I was the one!! I was going to have a forever home!

Here's me with Miss V - she's so happy that I'm going home with Mommy and Daddy!

Here we are in the car - I was crying a lot, so Miss V thought I might need a little hug.

And here's my very first video - I had only been home for three days!

(no, it's not on fast forward - I really do move that fast!)

Thursday Thirteen #15 - The Things We Do For Love

Every once and a while we don't get the love we need and deserve. I know it seems crazy, but sometimes Mommy and Daddy get too "busy" and we need to demand some love! So today we thought we would share some of the things we do to get love and attention.

1. Yell at Mommy or Daddy like a baby Pterodactyl - Jake (also works at breakfast or dinner)

2. Lay down and then put my floofy tail and pants in the air - Pearl

3. Drop a toy in a lap, then crawling up to "get it" - George

4. Dig under the covers - Jake

5. Sit on the ottoman and stare at Mommy - Bert

6. Headbutt legs, shoulders, what ever I can find - Jake

7. Put the lickey/bittey on Mommy or Daddy's fingers - Pearl

8. "Knead Dough" on Daddy - Jake

9. Whine and look sad until I'm invited up on a lap - George

10. Slink up to the big bed, and snuggle with Mommy - Bert

11. Burrow behind Mommy and dig into her shirt - Pearl

12. Sit and chirp at Mommy - Bert

13. Sit and make blinky eyes at who ever is looking (guaranteed to get you picked up and snuggled!) - Pearl, Bert or Jake

What do you kitties do for love?

Big Weekend!

It's a big weekend around here, starting today!

Today is George Washington's birthday - and we love to celebrate it! Yep, that first president of ours was something special.

All right, not really, we love to celebrate Bert's birthday!!!! He's 2 today!!! So have a slice of Nip Birthday cake and a Niptini, maybe stay and play awhile!

Bert's Birthday

So we'll be celebrating all Friday with him, but that doesn't really add up to a whole weekend - so we'll have to think about something else to celebrate...

The wonderful Miss Peach gave us this wonderful award!

We wanted to pass it on to the Cat Blogosphere, the Tuxedo Gang Hideout, the Gorgeous Gingers and the Coats of Many Colors (and the soon to be formed Tough A** Torties!) - all of the wonderful, supportive groups of the kitty blogging world that got us all started in the first place. We'd also like to pass it on to Captain Jack and Sir Dante (not just because Dante happens to be the most dashing Pirate Cat) - we started blogging about the same time, they were one of our first blogging friends and we've been "blogging buddies" ever since!

Ok - still not enough? How about the fact that it's our Mommy's birthday on Saturday - and she's gonna be...

Ok now kitties, we don't need to tell everyone how old I'm going to be
.

All right we'll just say she hasn't hit the big 40 yet, but she keeps getting closer :-). Daddy is taking her out for an all day adventure, we're not sure what's going to happen, but they are both pretty excited about it.

Is that enough? That seems like a lot to celebrate, but we'll do our best!

Happy Weekend Everykitty!

ManCat Monday

It was a very ManCat-y weekend around here. Bert and I played "king of the living room" (you know, when one of us tries to chase the other out of the room!), we played in the toy basket and ran around the house - we thought it was shaping up to be a great weekend! But it got better - Mommy said that there were two packages that came on Friday (of course she didn't have time to help us open them until Sunday - sheesh!).

One was a valentine from Tazo for Bert and one was for me from my dear Queen Snickers! Tazo sent Bert this super nip sushi:

And Queen Snickers sent me a bag of salmon temptations (my FAVORITE!) and a super nip valentine heart - it said "Bite Me, Lick Me, Bunnykick Me" - and I did! Mommy couldn't get a very good picture of me with the heart, but as you can see, I helped myself to the temptations:

And of course, Pearl thought everything was for her! (Well, I am a princess and what's your's is mine and what's mine is mine - right?!)

And both presents came with lovely cards too - and the funny thing is that they are the same one :-) (see, both our girls have great taste!)

Thank You, Thank You, Thank You Queen Snickers and Tazo!

Sad Day

Today is a sad day for Mommy and Daddy - two years ago today my big brother Basil went to the Bridge. Mommy still misses her cuddly, tuxie boy every day - and so do I.

This was one of his favorite sleeping spots - curled up in the sheets.

He was always very good with George.

And he was very tolerant of his Bean Cousin.

And he trained me to be the good ManCat that I am today.

A handsome fellow.

And playful too!

Thursday Thirteen #10

Alright, alright - so Pearl let the "cat" out of the bag and now everyone knows that I have a kitty crush on Tazo!

So I thought I'd do a Thursday Thirteen list to prove what a perfect match Tazo and I are:

1. We're about the same age - I'm about to be two, Tazo is already two.
2. We both love woofies.
3. I am gainfully employed as a report for the TGH (so I can buy plenty of nip and temptations).
4. She loves cereal and I love cereal (lots of milk - no oatmeal please)
5. She matches her woofie and I match my woofie.
6. She's Grey and White and I'm Black and White
7. We both have grumpy big ManCat brothers.
8. She has a Mitten shape on her back - I have white mittens.
9. We both live in the Mitten state!
10. She likes to play Thundering Herd of Elephants - I sound like a thundering herd of elephants all by myself.
11. Neither one of us like snow.
12. She has a little grey tip on one toe and I have a little white tip on my tail.
13. We both have microchips - so she could always find me and I could always find her!

So, if that doesn't prove that I'm worthy of the sweet Tazo I don't know what will.

I gotta go now - Pearl's been in hiding since yesterday cause she knows I'm gonna put the smack-down on her! Didn't Sammy say we were supposed to practice our whapping?!?!

Wordy Wednesday

Oh we were all set to do a Wordless Wednesday, but then I found this in our email:
    Dear Queen Snickers,

My name is Bert - I'm Jake's little brother, and I'm looking for love. Pearl has Dante, and well, I think you know that Jake is sweet on you - and since I'm about to be two I think I'd like a girlfriend too!

I sort of have my eye on a pretty lady cat, but I'm not sure if she likes me too! And there are all sorts of pretty girl cats on your Love Cafe, it's hard to decide. What should I do? Should I tell Tazo that I think she's pretty spiffy (and she loves her woofie too like I love mine) - or should I try my luck with another kitty?

I've attached my most handsome mancat picture for the love cafe just in case!

    Purrs,
    Bert

Well Tazo, girls? He's out there - and even though he's my little brother - he would be a pretty good catch, go take a look!

Hee hee - boy are Jake and Bert gonna be mad at me when they see this!!!!!

Happy Gotcha Day Pearl!

Pearl's Mommy here today, it's Pearl's gotcha day today so I thought I'd tell the story of how we got her!

Two years ago we decided to get a new kitten. We had been without a "P" kitty for a while (it's hard to be PB&J without a P) and were ready for a new edition. I had been researching rescue groups on PetFinder for a while, and finally found a picture of a little floofy tortoiseshell kitten that caught my eye. I called the lady immediately and asked about the kitten named Domino. She said that she was still getting over an upper respiratory infection, but if we wanted to come the next weekend she could probably be adopted.

So Friday night came and we were both so excited for the next morning, we sat down with Jake and Basil (this was before Bert) and George and told them that we were going to be bringing them a new little sister. We were happy that PB&J would be back together again, they seemed less than thrilled! When Saturday came we awoke to a winter wonderland - it had snowed 6 inches overnight, but we braved the weather, cleared the driveway and and got in the car for the hour drive to the shelter.

Once we got there we met with the lady and met Domino, her eyes were a bit gooey still and she was very skittish. When we approached her she ran away and hid with her sister. All of a sudden we weren't sure that she was the right one. So we sat and played with all the other kittens - seeing which would be the one to come home with us. I kept looking at Domino, disappointed since she was the one I had had my heart set on, but clearly she didn't want us.

As I was trying to decide between two little black kittens my hubby, knowing that I was having a hard time deciding, went back to Domino and just picked her up! He talked to her and pet her a bit, then all of a sudden yelled to me "Hey Honey, she's licking me!". So I rushed over and sure enough she was purring and licking his fingers (which she still does when she's happy) - we both turned to the lady and said "We'll take her!".

That's how we got our Pearl, and we couldn't be happier! Happy Gotcha Day Little One!

Much Love,
Mommy

P.S. We only just read about dear Caesar, tomorrow we will do our Tuxie Tuesday to honor him.

Thankful Thursday

We thought we'd take this Thursday to be thankful for all the good things...

  • Thankful for the safe return of Mao and Annie.

  • Thankful for Latte being well again (though were still worried about his Meowmy).

  • Thankful that Tesla's lumps aren't lumps at all.

  • Thankful that we're finally getting back to a normal routine with the holidays over.

  • Thankful for our cool souvenir from Karl & Ruis' trip to Antarctica, we've named him "Dinner" cause he looks like a Macaroni Penguin!

  • Thankful for all our wonderful friends in the Cat Blogosphere.

And thankful for more awards:

Our sweet friend Tesla gave us another "Thinking Blogger" Award!

And our dear friend Chancy gave us a "You Made My Day" Award!

So, with the Thinking Blogger - since a lot of the kitty bloggers already have them, we'd like to give this to any other kitty that doesn't have one - cause we're all great bloggers and we all make others think (think that we're taking over the blogosphere that is).

As for the the You Make My Day here are our choices:

Pearl - well of course I award this to my sweet Dante, his posts always make my day!

Jake - I love reading lots of the kitties blogs, but I'd like to give this award two kitties: old friends (the first ever to leave a comment on our bloggie) Samantha & Tigger, and a new friend Queen Snickers *sigh*.

Bert - Jeesh you two! Mooning over other kitties! I'd like to give mine to the Furry Kids, because I think Titus looks like a cool woofie, EG is clearly a cool ManCat and well Tazo is pretty and she can handle her nip!

And of course we're always thankful for our Mommy and Daddy and our forever home with them.

Thanks Pearl & Jan!

Wow - what a great weekend, Pearl gave me an award and Jan tagged us for a meme! So many great things.

First things first! My spiffy new award...

The Extraordinary Gold Star Award was created by - Storm, The Furry Fighter - and is for Bloggers who have achieved or done something special. The award celebrates beyond what is ordinary or usual.

1) Post the explanation and rules of the award and link back to the blogger who presented you with the award and repeat the reason why you received it.

2) Pass the Award on to two other Bloggers who you fink deserve it and explain why!

Well, there are so many deserving kitties out there - but if I had to choose two I think it would have to be Chancy, who continues to blog even after loosing Ernie (plus she's a very pretty kitty!) and Chase, for being such an amazing injured kitty ambassador (though I'm sure she's gotten then award before).

Now, onto the meme. Here are the rules:

Link to the person that tagged you and post the rules on your blog. Share seven random and/or weird facts about yourself. Tag seven random people at the end of your post, and include links to their blogs. Let each person know they have been tagged by leaving a notification on their blog.

So here are our 7 weird things we do:
1. Pearl can run around the ottoman - on the side of the ottoman!
2. Bert likes to hid under the table at dinner time and come out only when his dish is down.
3. Jake likes to attack the sheets while Mommy and Daddy make the bed.
4. Pearl always licks and bites fingers when she's "making biscuits" on a lap.
5. Jake prefers to sit in the kitty tent head first (with his big old butt sticking out!).
6. Bert will only sleep on the big bed if he sleeps on Mommy or her clothes.
7. George has to move her bed and blankets around at night before she goes to sleep.

We'd like to tag Dante and Capt. Jack, Tybalt, Merlin (he might never have been tagged) and Dragonheart (if he's feeling better), Parker, the Furry Kids, Tesla, and Jasper and the McKitten-Cats.

I Feel So Honored

Oh my goodness! My Darling Dante has passed on this wonderful award:

The Extraordinary Gold Star Award was created by - Storm, The Furry Fighter - and is for Bloggers who have achieved or done something special. The award celebrates beyond what is ordinary or usual.

1) Post the explanation and rules of the award and link back to the blogger who presented you with the award and repeat the reason why you received it.

2) Pass the Award on to two other Bloggers who you fink deserve it and explain why!

I wish that I could say that I've done more to deserve such a wonderful award. My Daddy says that I did survive two very bad cases of parasites as well as multiple ear and upper respiratory infections when I was little - so maybe that counts. And my Mommy says that I had some very big paw prints to fill when Purdy went over the bridge and I came here to my Forever home. In either case, I'll do my best to continue earning it!

As for who to pass it onto next, that's a tough one, but I have an idea...

I would like to pass it on to Midnite & Stray Kitty at Astor Cats, since they are trying to help their Mommy through a tough situation with the nasty neighbor.

The other kitty I'd like to pass it on to - my brother Jake. Seems strange I know, since we don't always get along. But when Jake was a wee bitty baby (the V-E-T said he was about three weeks) he toddled out of a shrub to find our Mommy, he had been abandoned by his Kitty-Mommy. I think that it was very extraordinary to go out and find a new Mommy!

I'm sure Jake will find some wonderful kitties to pass his star onto too!

Oh What A Day!

Wowee! It's been quite a day around here! First, Mommy and Daddy got home last night. Second, George didn't come home from the kennel till this morning, so we got some serious Mommy and Daddy time. Third, we got a bunch of presents from our Nana and Papa - three bags of greenies and a bunch of fuzzy mice. Fourth, Mommy and Daddy let us open our stockings from Santa, that was really great! We got a bunch of cool stuff, fuzzy mice, treats, a new laser pointer and a couple of long feather toys. Fifth, and most importantly we got to open our Secret Paws (it came while Mommy and Daddy were away - and we waited so patiently to open it)!

Thank you sooooooooooo very much Nymphadora Tonks of the Fluffy Tribe! We love it - and what an amazing package! We got a couple of catnip toys, a huge bag of Catnip, a fuzzy mouse, a pretty pink ball (which has already been lost under the sofa once) and the best part - beautiful hand made blankets for each of us!!! Here are some of the pictures...

Here's George opening her stocking and her present from Nana and Papa.

Here's Pearl checking out her treats from Santa.

Jake enjoys his new blankie from Nymphadora.

Here's Bert checking out the haul of presents!

Here's all our wonderful Secret Paws presents (and Pearl, she won't stay off the new blankets!)

So, now we're all just relaxing at home, George is tired from having such a good time at the kennel, and we're sleeping off the nip that we got earlier. Mommy and Daddy are going out later, so it will be a quiet evening for us. Well, except for Pearl - she's heading out on her New Year's date with Dante (she's been preening all day!).

We hope every kitty has a wonderful New Year's celebration!

Tuxie and Terrier Tuesday

Ha Ha - Bert sleeps with the dog! We're never gonna let him live that down!

-Pearl and Jake

(It's hard to see where the Terrier stops and the Tuxie begins, but aren't they cute? -Mommy)

P.S. Thank you Mr. Hendrix - we got your card last night, it was lovely!

Fur Sibling Friday

All right, there's been a lot of debate around here as to who we should nominate for "Best Fur Sibling of the Year".

Jake thinks it should be him, since he's the oldest. Pearl thinks it should be her, since she's the princess and therefore the best. George thinks it should be her, because she's the biggest and the rowdiest.

So that's why we're all going to nominate Bert. That's three paws in the air for Bert! Bert is a great brother for both kitties and woofies.
Wow, thank you - It's an Honor, just to be Nominated!

Here are all the reasons that we think Bert should be the Fur Sibling of the Year:

Jake - I Nominate Bert because he is a good "ManCat In Training". Like my big brother before me, I'm training Bert to be a good and courageous ManCat - and he is doing a very good job. He is very brave outside, but smart enough to stay close to home. He's a good bird and mouse catcher, and is also good at catching the chipmunk that lives in the yard (but it always manages to get away - it's a smart chipmunk). Bert is always kind enough to let me wash his head, and always lets me eat his left over Stinky Goodness. When it's time to play "Run through the House as Loud as Possible" he's always the loudest and the fastest. And best yet, he loves to play Laundry Basket Wrestling, one of my favorite games!

Here we are in the Laundry Basket (a little snuggle after the wrestling)

Pearl - Bert was adopted just a few months after I was so we're a pair, a happy kitten pair. We are each other's favorite playmates. When we were still small enough to fit, we'd sleep together in the kitty hammock (now I sleep in the hammock and he sleeps above me in his basket). Even though he is younger than me, he always looks out for me outside - we sit together on the porch watching all the birds and squirrels go by. We also team up to make a great hunting team, we catch tons of mice for Mommy (and she squeals with excitement when she finds them!). When we play inside with the stringy toy he always takes turns with me so that we can both play. Even though he's bigger than me now he's always fun to play with, and always stops when I tell him he's being too rough.

Here's Bert and Pearl hanging out in the hammock (Bert was still a baby)

George - Bert is my cat. Mommy has her cat (Pearl, okay well I guess they are all hers, cause she's the Mommy, but you know what I mean), Daddy has his cat (Jake) and I have Bert. Bert will only give Headbutts to me, not even Pearl or Jake. He comes into my room and rubs me and starts to purr (something he doesn't do very often - and never for Daddy). Bert's not just a cuddler either, he's my play buddy. No matter how rough I get he just lets me slobber all over him - I can paw him and put his head in my mouth and he never complains (though Mommy and Daddy yell A LOT when I do it). Bert never smacks me in the nose or puts the bitey on my ears, just one of the many reasons he should be Fur Sibling of the Year!

Here were are cuddling together.

So here's three cheers and at least three votes to Bert!!!

Dirty Tuxie Tuesday

I figured out what to get for my Mommy as a welcome home present! I went under the house and got as dirty as possible then tracked "Dirty Bertie" paw prints all over the sofa - I just know she's gonna love it!!!

Mommy Monday

She's home! Yay!

We had a good enough time with Daddy, but we really do need our Mommy. At first everything was fine, but by the third night we were all up on the bed trying to get a cuddle with Dad. Usually there's not enough room for all three of us, but with Mommy gone, we all got up there.

Mommy brought us treats from a special fancy pet store since Daddy said we were such good kitties. But he was pretty good too! Daddy let us out when we asked, and he gave us lots of treats for coming in when he called, and he let us sleep on him at night (usually we only sleep on Mommy).

The best part is that she spent all day with us today! She was supposed to go to work, but she took a red-eye home and said she was too tired to go in. We spent the whole day laying in the bed with her, helping her with the laundry and keeping as close to her as we could.

I missed my Mommy so much that I went out and got her a present! I put a big, fat mourning dove on the porch for her, but Daddy said he wasn't sure she'd appreciate it and took it away. Now I don't have anything to give her as a welcome home present!

-Bert
