I Got a Shiner!

Do I look really tough? Would it be better if I was bleeding?

Mommy's not really sure how I managed to get banged up, but I did! Hopefully not enough so that I have to go to the V-E-T - just enough to look really ManCatly and tough.

P.S. It's George's Birthday today, she'd probably love some visitors!

Flooded - Again!

Pearl: Mommy has a whole new excuse, shesh, that woman will do anything to get out of helping us visit our friends! Now she's "saying" that the yard is flooded again.

Bert: Um, Pearl, the yard really is flooded again. See...

Pearl: Oh, well, then I guess it's an ok excuse.

Bert: Yeah, I think we're gonna be a bit busy for a while! So we want to take a quick minute to say Happy Valentines Day to all our friends and of course our sweeties Dante, Tazo and Queen Snickers!

Too Much Water!

Strangely enough, both Mommy and Daddy were home yesterday, but they didn't let us or George out. We think that it may have something to do with this...

Someone turned our yard into a swimming pool/ice rink! It took all of Sunday night and Monday, and the nice men at the fire department, and our super nice friend (with a big water pump) for some of it to go away. Mommy and Daddy are super duper tired and ready to sleep through the new year! Hopefully the water won't come back up and we all can get some rest (I have to tell you there was a lot of snoopervising out the window)!

Manic Monday

Well, it's a bit crazy around here. Mommy and Daddy are heading off to Catifornia for the holidays earlier than they expected, so now they are running around preparing to abandon us. Yep, those pre-teen beans are going to be looking out after us starting on Thursday. And as much as we miss Mommy and Daddy, we do try to enjoy our Georgie free time (she'll be headed to Camp on Wednesday night).

So first off today, we're going to apologize for not being able to visit much last week - and now this week as well! We'll do our best to catch up with everyone as soon as we can. We're hoping that they'll leave the laptop so that we can visit while they are away :-)

And now for the rest of the day, we wanted to take care of a little business!

There's the 6th Photo meme from Siena and Chili. You go to your photo file, then find the sixth picture (you may have to go to a sixth folder like we did, but you can figure it out). This one wasn't a very interesting, but we wanted to be true to the spirit of the meme!

It's me playing in our kitty tent - even though you can't see very much of me (ha ha)! Now I know that a lot of kitties have already done this meme, so anykitty that wants to do this can consider themselves tagged.

More importantly, we want to thank our friends the Island Cats for this really cool award!

The Lemonade Award is given to sites which the giver show either great attitude and or gratitude.

Madhouse Monday

Ayla, Skeeter and LC decided to organize a house-trashin' party on Sunday (all right, it was mostly Ayla, but darn if she isn't great at trashing a house)!

Also, please make sure to keep Skeeter in your Purrayers, he's not feeling well and he gets more test results back from the V-E-T today.

Here's all the crazy stuff that went on (sorry no pictures this time!):

The Criz Cats all came over, they played "catch a real mouse, hide it and see who can find it first" - but we know one has found it yet (hee hee)

Zippy, Sadie and Speedy brought extra nip for added fun and Speedy worked on a couple of hairballs for extra mess.

Tybalt, Holly and Ivy brought over some niptinis to help relieve the stress.

Katie & Da Katz brought over extra furniture to shred and jump on (they're moving!)

Karl & Ruis searched for lizards and Karl dug some holes in floor. Ruis was sure there were 3 mice in the other room and accidentally trashed the whole room to try to catch them....

Super special thanks to Karen Jo who helped all us kitties out by opening any closed doors to make sure the whole house was available.

The Meaowy Troops came over to help!

The Taylor CatSSSSS were in rare form, Sassy took care of all the lamps and Sam yacked up a hairball or two, Seaborne, Spats & Summer left furr and destruction in their wake and then got started on a great round of THoE?????

Every furry kid over at Jan's Funny Farm stopped by to help out!

Mr. Hendrix and Bendrix spread all the dirt from the house plants around and then got started on shredding the curtains.

Tenny was feeling better and got started shredding all the TP in the bathrooms!

Mr. Echo did a bit of redecorating - knocking a pile of papers onto the floor to dive into and slide around.

The Meezers
went all out, Sammy whaped some picture frames onto the rug, while Miles tossed some pillows around the bed and Billy ran around pulling all the towels off the towel racks.

Goldie brought three birds and two mice for a corpse flinging contest. Not sure who won that one!

Fat Eric did more than his fair share, coughing up a nice big hairball on the rug, sharpening his claws on the wooden chair and leaving ginger floof in his wake.

Samantha & Tigger brought lots of Florida lizards! And their duck furiends, Mo & Jo, were are very, very, very messy!!

And of course the hosts did the most damage, here's what Skeeter, LC and Ayla did:
Skeeter: I likes to do stuff what smells. So I peed in a closet corner, stuffed a dead mousie inna boot, an farted all aroun as much as possible. An a few of those raw shrimp I found at Gree & Othello's weddin got mysteriously stuffed unner the fridgerator!

LC: I love ta spread stuff aroun. So that pile of bills onna table are now hidden unner beds and stuff. I dragged all the pens I could find unner chairs, an iffen ya hear a strange noise when the Beins turn on the garbage shredder, don't be surprised!

Ayla: Heh, heh, heh. I LOVE destroyin. The Big Thing has started callin me "Shiva". I got up onna curtains an ripped out the threads. I got into the bookshelfs and pushed a few behind the ofers so they will never be found. Then I chewed on the corners of the dictionary pages an ate a few werds they are sure to look up someday.

After that, I collected a bunch of dust bunnies an stuffed em inta the pillowcases ta promote sneezin, got Karen Jo to reverse the direction of the TP rolls (thanks Karen). Beins hate that. I also got her ta help me exchange the contents of the sugar an salt containers!

Skeeter again: While Ayla was doin all that, I took the time to open all the CDs and DVDs and change the disks around inta the wrong cases. An a spilled some sugar onna kitchen floor ta attract antsies.

They had to leave for a bit (there was a thunderstorm at thier house, but here's what they did when they got back:

Skeeter: I marked a coupla cutain bottoms, and left a hairball behin the bottom shelf of books...

LC: I ripped off the address labels ta some magazines. I'll sell them on ebay! An I marked the magazines too.

Ayla: "Marking territory", how crude and unclever... I traded the medicine cabinet asperin fer the sleepy pills, squeezed ex-lax inta the toofpaste, an I opened a hole inna attic so bats can move in! MOL! It took 6 kitties ta manage that, but it was worth it.

We also noticed that Karen Jo switched the salted butter fer the unsalted kind. We're not sure what that does, but she seemed real pleased, so it mus be a good trick.

LC: I replaced all their roasted nuts wif unsalted ones. Ayla and Skeeter tole me that was REAL lame, so I added hot sauce. Lots of hot sauce. They liked that idee better, so I added "chilly powder" too.

Ayla: I found a bag of round dry beans, so I scattered them on the stairs.

The biggest deal for our second visit was that we dragged The Big Thing along fer a few minutes. He was stunned at the trashin. But we asked him ta thing of somethin.

Ya wont belief what he did. he went ta the "thermostatie thing" an reversed the wires! When the Beins set the cool lower, it will rise!

Oh Bastet! That is so cool (or warm) we're not sure. Whatefer! LOLOL!

An as we left, we turned their front door mat upside down AND backwards! MOL!

Well done again all you kitties, puppies and Karen Jo - thank you again. Hopefully this time they will really get it!

A Visitor

Um, Shade - I think you managed to scare that fox pretty good, cause she's here!

Mommy saw our visitor this morning, from the kitchen window (which is why the picture isn't very good - it's through the screen). Mommy said we couldn't go out unless someone was home to watch over us - but Daddy let us out this afternoon anyway. So I enjoyed my afternoon out and about - until Daddy and I saw that intruder. At which point I chased her off up the driveway!! I don't think that Fox will be back any time soon with such a tough-a** tortie around!

Daddy called Mommy to tell her the story and (after Mommy yelled at Daddy A LOT for letting me out) Mommy said that apparently I'm more of a "Dumb-A** Tortie" than a tough-a** tortie!

And I think it's safe to say that we won't be going out by ourselves much for a while.

-Pearl

**UPDATE** Daddy didn't give Mommy all the story till just this morning, apparently he left out the part where I stalked and chased off a Canada Goose (which as we all know are pretty big and mean). I think Mommy was way more upset about that, because the geese are always around and they are much braver than the fox. But I can not be stopped (well, except for not being let out, that'll stop me)!

Terrier Terror Tuesday

Jake: George, look what you did to my spiffy new birthday toy!

George: It's not my fault, it was in my room! Mommy says that if you guys leave your toys in my room that it's not my fault.

Jake: Well I didn't leave it in there, I don't even go in your room unless Daddy it in there.

George: Well, it was there, so I did what I do - sorry!

Jake: Sheesh, what is it with sisters lately!

One Word Wednesday

Yep one word - V-E-T!

Alright, so I've got a few more words to go along with that first one...

I was so excited yesterday, Mommy came home early and we played for a few minutes - we never do that. Then I got some afternoon treats, we never do that either. But then it really got strange.

Mommy went down to our litter box and dug around yelling that there was no "fresh poop" - that's weird right?! Then she came back with the PTU and I knew I was in trouble. I tried to run, but it was too late!

Here's me in my PTU - can you see me?

So I went as quietly as I could (which wasn't really all that quietly) - and I suppose it wasn't too bad. The mean doctor didn't use the thermometer and he didn't wash my ears. He did stabbed me once and then he used an extra loud shooty thing that scared me a lot (he told Mommy that it was a new way of giving me my booster - less painful but really loud!).

There were a few bright spots. It turns out that I am a bit of celebri-kitty at the vet's office! Do you see a kitty you recognize on their wall of fame (you'll probably have to biggify)?

The other bright spots were the extra stinky goodness I got for dinner and that I got to cuddle all night with Mommy (and she even made the boys and the dog leave me alone) - those were the best!

Maybe going to the V-E-T isn't all bad - nah, who am I kidding?!

Thursday Thirteen #5 - Why I Shouldn't Run Outside in the Snow

I love going outside - that's no secret. Who wouldn't? There's mice and birds and squirrels and all sorts of good smells and things to do and eat!

Lately Mommy and Daddy haven't been letting us out as often, something about it being cold out and snowing. I keep telling them that I've got floofy fur and tufts in my toes - I'll be fine.

Yesterday I ran out of the front door before Mommy could stop me - and I ran and romped and played. But there was a little problem with my plan, Mommy and Daddy had to go to work and so they weren't home to open the door for me when I wanted to come in.

So here's my 13 reasons why it's not a good idea to run out the door:

1. When Mommy says it's snowing, it means bits of very cold water are coming down from the sky.

2. When Daddy says it's cold out it means that it's under 30 degrees.

3. I got pine pitch in my pants because I hid under the pine tree to stay warm.

4. I sat by the front door for hours hollering for Mommy or Daddy (that's what the neighbor said).

5. Since we're not allowed outside in winter, Mommy had Daddy take away the little shelter under the deck (the birds and squirrels were making a mess of it), so I didn't have a warm place to hide.

6. There aren't many mice or other creatures to hunt on a snowy day - they all stay in their homes (like I should have).

7. I missed my warm kitty cups where I sleep during the day and I couldn't get eat my crunchies or have any water.

8. I had to hide behind our little spruce tree when it got really windy.

9. I got burs in my tummy fur from running around in the weeds.

10. I just know that my brothers were inside doing all the things that I should have been doing, (you know napping, eating, playing).

11. Mommy and Daddy worried all day - they even asked the neighbor to check and see if I was ok.

12. I got all my floofy furs dirty trying to crawl under the wood pile to stay warm.

13. My Mommy had to leave work early to come home and rescue me, cause she was very worried.

I'm sorry Mommy and Daddy. I promise to at least try and listen to you next time!

-Pearl

P.S. I'm sure he already got one, but I'd like to give my special golden rose to Dante, he's so dashing!
