But now there is a real reason, we've lost the J in PB&J. Jake died this morning at 4:30.
He came in from his midnight romp in the garden with Pearl and Bert, had his treats and fell over with what the doctor assumes was a blood clot.
He died quickly and hopefully easily and was with his Daddy who was his most favorite person in the world - it's all we could ask for really.
Now he'll be cremated and laid to rest with the original P & B. His first brother and sister and the cats that raised him from the wee three week old kitten he was when I found him on a street 9 years ago.
So now it's time to say good bye to my lovely Maine Coon ManCat Jake and good bye to all of you wonderful Cat Bloggers. It has been a wonderful journey filled with great friends and fun - I loved laughing and crying with you all.

I am so sad to hear about Jake. I, too, had not been posting a lot since losing Sweet Praline in April, so I've lost contact with a lot of people. Sweet Praline was also cremated and she's at home with me in a place of honor.
I had so much love for Sweet Praline that I will be getting some new kittens at the end of this month. I'll never forget her, but she really taught me how to love.

We are so sad to read this news. Very very sad. We understand how difficult it is to blog when life has taken over. The world of cat blogging is such a lovely planet but there is our day-to-day work and commutes and deaths and births. It all comes crashing in more than we would like. And all of our best intentions to blog or visit or comment get swept away by the events that are larger than our intentions.
We always had a fondness for your blog even though we were not present. (Intentions. Life in the way.)
Jake visited us and we were always happy to see the PB&J signature. It made us smile.
His passing was so sudden. That makes it painful in ways that an expected passing (Like our dear Auntie Stinkie) softens. And the hole it leaves is enormous in your heart.
We can only send you purrz and hopes that as time passes, new ones will come to gladden your heart and the memories of your dear Jake will be legendary and join the "ones who came before."
