Happiest ManCat Ever

Oh I just love, love, love my Daddy (well, and stinky goodness)!!!!!

Friday, March 28, 2008

Holy Cow!

Would ya look at this?!

We were reading the Manx Mnews and saw that they got a super "kitty Spa". Of course I told Mommy right away, but then nothing happened for a long time, so figured they just didn't care about what I poop in. Then the other day she came home with the biggest litter box we're ever seen!!!

Obviously the kittens aren't too impressed, but I think it's spiffy! I'm so excited - Daddy, get the litter!!!!

- Jake

P.S. Mommy says she got it at Petsmart and it was very reasonable, but it does take a lot of litter!

Thursday Thirteen #15 - The Things We Do For Love

Every once and a while we don't get the love we need and deserve. I know it seems crazy, but sometimes Mommy and Daddy get too "busy" and we need to demand some love! So today we thought we would share some of the things we do to get love and attention.

1. Yell at Mommy or Daddy like a baby Pterodactyl - Jake (also works at breakfast or dinner)

2. Lay down and then put my floofy tail and pants in the air - Pearl

3. Drop a toy in a lap, then crawling up to "get it" - George

4. Dig under the covers - Jake

5. Sit on the ottoman and stare at Mommy - Bert

6. Headbutt legs, shoulders, what ever I can find - Jake

7. Put the lickey/bittey on Mommy or Daddy's fingers - Pearl

8. "Knead Dough" on Daddy - Jake

9. Whine and look sad until I'm invited up on a lap - George

10. Slink up to the big bed, and snuggle with Mommy - Bert

11. Burrow behind Mommy and dig into her shirt - Pearl

12. Sit and chirp at Mommy - Bert

13. Sit and make blinky eyes at who ever is looking (guaranteed to get you picked up and snuggled!) - Pearl, Bert or Jake

What do you kitties do for love?

One Word Wednesday

Yep one word - V-E-T!

Alright, so I've got a few more words to go along with that first one...

I was so excited yesterday, Mommy came home early and we played for a few minutes - we never do that. Then I got some afternoon treats, we never do that either. But then it really got strange.

Mommy went down to our litter box and dug around yelling that there was no "fresh poop" - that's weird right?! Then she came back with the PTU and I knew I was in trouble. I tried to run, but it was too late!

Here's me in my PTU - can you see me?

So I went as quietly as I could (which wasn't really all that quietly) - and I suppose it wasn't too bad. The mean doctor didn't use the thermometer and he didn't wash my ears. He did stabbed me once and then he used an extra loud shooty thing that scared me a lot (he told Mommy that it was a new way of giving me my booster - less painful but really loud!).

There were a few bright spots. It turns out that I am a bit of celebri-kitty at the vet's office! Do you see a kitty you recognize on their wall of fame (you'll probably have to biggify)?

The other bright spots were the extra stinky goodness I got for dinner and that I got to cuddle all night with Mommy (and she even made the boys and the dog leave me alone) - those were the best!

Maybe going to the V-E-T isn't all bad - nah, who am I kidding?!

Make A Wish

My sweet Queen Snicker's tagged us for this meme. The hard thing was coming up with only one wish...

The Rules:
1. Think about what it is that you want more than anything, what your heart’s desire and fondest wish is, and what it is that you would wish for if you were to see the above wishing star flame across the night sky.
2. Right click and SAVE the blank graphic below.
3. Use a graphics program of your choice and place your wish on this picture:

4. Post the Make A Wish Meme and your wishing star on your blog along with these rules.
5. Tag as many people as you like so that there can be wishing stars all across the Blogosphere and ask them to please link back to Linda so that we can see what wishes others have made and share those wishes with others.

We decided to pass this on to our newer friends (not that we don't love our older bloggie friends!):
Princess Pearl
Meg & Jack
JB
and George's new friends The Two New England Schnauzers

ManCat Monday

We're a little miffed today.

- Try as we might, we did not manage to catch or even see that Easter Bunny guy. We tried to stay up all night, but never saw him.

- It snowed on Friday and on Sunday, so we weren't allowed to go out all weekend.

- After we posted about how much we love Easter, Mommy and Daddy took Georgie and left us kitties at home almost all day! We didn't even get out Stinky Goodness till almost 10pm (way past our dinner time).

- Oh and because they went somewhere else for dinner, we didn't get any treats - no lamb, no duck, no salmon mousse. They ate all kinds of yummy stuff and we got zippo!

- Worst of all, Mommy is really busy at work this week, so that means she'll be home late all the time, which means late dinner and less blogging! Apparently she just doesn't take our blogging seriously enough! Perhaps we can get her to leave the laptop home during the day so that we can still get a chance to visit all our friends!

Smudge Saturday

They will not go quietly,
the Cats who've shared our lives.
In subtle ways they let us know
their spirit still survives.

Old habits still make us think
we hear a scratch at the door.
Or step back when we drop
a tasty morsel on the floor.

Our feet still go around the place
the food dish used to be,
And, sometimes, coming home at night,
we miss them terribly.

And although time may bring new friends
and a new food dish to fill,
That one place in our hearts
belongs to them ...
and always will.

We'll miss you Smudge.

Thanks to Not the Mama for the beautiful picture and to the Cat Blogosphere for naming it Smudge Saturday.

Friends on Friday

I've been meaning to do this for a while, now - but Mommy kept forgetting, so finally I've for a moment to introduce you all to the original Princess Pearl! No, no, not me, there's another one - only she's a real princess - well she lives where there are real princesses!

Her full name is Princess Pearl C. Pritchard and she used to live in New York City - till, quite rudely, she and her brother were taken on a plane to England. Actually it worked out well, now she lives in the land of Princesses and has become one herself!

We have so much in common. She lives with a woofie, just like I do. She has a brother - I have two. And her woman grew up in Michigan, where we now live!

Please stop by and say hello to my counterpart across the pond!

Also, as we think about friends - please stop by and visit Smudge's family. Smudge lost his fight last night and they are so very sad. We know Smudge is in a better place - but they miss him terribly and need our purrs.

Thursday Thirteen #14 - A Holiday We Like

It's not that we don't like holidays, but there are a number of them that we don't like. Halloween means that we can't go out and there are people at our door all night long. Christmas and Hanukkah means that Mommy and Daddy go away for a week. And Fourth of July is way too loud for us!

Now Easter, that's a holiday we can get behind - and here's why:

1. Easter means spring is here.
2. Easter is always on a Sunday, which means Mommy and Daddy are home.
3. Easter means eggs!
4. Easter is Mommy's favorite holiday
5. Easter means that it's warmer out so we can go outside.
6. There's lots of chicks around (well, they are usually candy but they're still chick-hens!).
7. Easter is usually just Mommy and Daddy, so it's a nice family day.
8. Easter means HAM or sometimes Lamb!!!!
9. Usually we get new toys for Easter - maybe from the Easter Bunny?
10. Easter is always on a Sunday, which means a big breakfast and Mommy and Daddy always share.
11. Easter means that Mommy and Daddy have dinner in the dining room, so we can try to get on the table.
12. Apparently there's an Easter Bunny, we haven't seen him, but we'd like to find out more about him!
13. Did we mention the HAM!

Oh, and Happy First Day of Spring to everykitty!

Really Wordy Wednesday

We've got lots to say today - so it's a really Wordy Wednesday!

First of all, we're super excited, cause Mommy is working from home today and George is going to the groomer for half the day - so we're gonna have a super day, lots of Mommy and not so much Georgie!

Next, the lovely and talented Queen Snickers tagged us for the middle name meme. But this got us thinking, do we actually have middle names? So we had a little talk with Mommy about it, and we decided that we don't actually have middle names, but there are some two-part names that she and Daddy call us all the time, so we'll use those!

Here are the rules:

1. You have to post the rules before you give your answers.

2. You must list one fact about yourself beginning with each letter of your middle name. (If you don't have a middle name, use your maiden name or your mother's maiden name).

3. At the end of your blog post, you need to tag one person (or blogger of another species) for each letter of your middle name. (Be sure to leave them a comment telling them they've been tagged.)

Mommy has called me Jakey Bo-Bo since I was a wee kitten, so:
B - Big, I am big, really big - and I like it.
O - Overly-Cautious - No, that is not another way to say scaredy cat, ok, well, maybe it does - but I prefer to say overly-cautious.
B - Baby Teradactyl, that's what Daddy says I sound like when I am asking (well, yelling) for my breakfast.
O - Omnivorous, I'll eat almost anything!

My Granddaddy said that the famous singer Pearl Bailey was called Pearly Mae when she was young, and so my whole family (even my wee bean cousins) call me that!
M - Mastermind, Mommy is pretty sure I'm usually the mastermind behind all the trouble that goes on in the house (oh - and she's probably right!).
A -Alert, I am the first to check out anything and everything, I even watch the front door to see whose coming and going.
E - Enthusiastic, I will play any time any where, I love to play!

Mommy is an insane Harry Potter fan, so when they decided to name me Bert, she instantly started calling me Bertie Botts (you know like the beans).
B - Black and White, yep I'm a tuxie and proud of it!
O - Open-Eyed, I love to watch the birds. I watch for hours and hours in the morning - it's my favorite thing.
T - Tough, I can take a licking and keep on ticking, I wrestle with George, and Jake and Pearl and I always come out just fine.
T - Talkative, I don't meow much, but I chirp and prrrp and mew a lot - especially when we're playing
S - Snuggly, I love to sneak up on Mommy in the early morning hours and snuggle up.

Since that is a lot of kitties to tag, we're going to tag Tazo and her brothers, Dante and Captain Jack (and the woofies as well), Tesla and Skeeter, LC and Ayla (who all just got middles names)!

Tuxie Tuesday

Those amazingly talented gals at Zoolatry made this for me (well, me, Charlotte, Tazo and Boo). A while ago and we've been so busy we almost forgot to post how super this is!

And check me out with all those great looking girls - and my fabulous GirlCat Tazo!

Happy St. Patty's Day!

St. Patrick's is always one of our Mommy and Daddy's favorite holidays - because it's just plain old fun! So we've already decked out our bloggie in the colors of Ireland and we're ready to celebrate!

While Mommy and Daddy go to work, we'll be heading to a bunch of parties:

First off there's Tybalt's Birthday party at the M-Cat's club.

After that we're off to Diamond's Black Cat Pub.

Then we'll top off the afternoon with the Captain Jack's Birthday party aboard the Black Furrball!

And don't forget Sassy, Momo, Karl and Ruis and everyone's (Momo-dog, Charybdis, Charlie, Mrs. Oz, Roscoe, Socks, Opus, Asta, Stanley, Emil, Scylla) trip to Dublin.

We'll be taking our sweeties and painting the Cat Blogosphere Green! And hopefully we'll wrap it all up in time to get home and have corned beef and cabbage with Mommy and Daddy when they get home!

See you all there!

You Kitties Are Smart!

Holy Cow - we got such a great response from our quiz! We're flattered that so many kitties knew so much about us!

And we have the winners of the trivia contest - but there are a few more winners than we originally expected. It turns out that Mommy accidentally put in a few trick questions...

The answer for question #5 was supposed to be Pearl, she escaped for a whole day out in the snow, but she had forgotten about the night that Jake was out in the snow too! So we decided that both answers are right!

The original answer for #7 was B-Daddy, but so many kitties answered C-Stinky Goodness, that we decided to do a test. So Mommy had Daddy sit on the floor across from some stinky Goodness, sadly Daddy lost. But we decided that both answers are right (even though Daddy is a bit sad about that).

The answer to question #11 was Pearl, one of her nicknames is Principessa, but Mr. Hendrix guessed Bert, because he's called Mustachio - and that's kind of right too!

And as for the bonus questions, we've never actually said on the blog what breed of dog George is, she is indeed an Airedale Terrier. Wow, all you kitties sure do know your woofie breeds.

Jeeze, we would have thought that Mommy would know more about us - but you guys showed her!!!

So here's how the winning turned out:
Dragonheart and Merlin had the first correct answers, they got everything but the Stinky Goodness question (which is now a right answer) - so they are the winners!

Queen Snickers and Empress are the runner's up - they missed the Stinky Goodness and the question about which one of us got locked out - but they did get both bonus questions correct!

We're giving special prizes to Chance and Mr. Hendrix, they both knew that Daddy is Jake's favorite, and they each got a bonus question right.

And of course Miss Peach and The Furry Kids each get prizes for knowing that George is an Airedale!

So I think we have addresses for most everyone, we definitely need addresses for Miss Peach and Chance. So if you could email us at pbandjkitties@gmail.com we'll get your prizes out!

Update: The auction for the greeting cards to benefit Lilly Lu has ended! And Samantha and Mr. Tigger are the winners, bidding 20 green papers! Way to go all you kitties!

Thursday Thirteen #13 - Our 100th Post!

Wowee - can you guys believe it? It's our 100th post already! So to celebrate, we've decided to make our Thursday Thirteen into a contest (we got the super idea from Queen Snickers and Empress)! So the first kitty to answer all 13 questions correctly will get a prize pack, there are two bonus questions so there are two bonus prizes!!!!

PB&J Trivia:
1. Which of us is the youngest?

2. True or False:
Pearl and Bert came from the same shelter.

3. Bert will only purr for one of his sisters, is it:
A - Pearl
B - George

4. Which of us was born in California?

5. One of us got locked outside for a whole day - who was it?

6. What is the name of our Virtual Squillion?

7. Jake's favorite is:
A - Mommy
B - Daddy
C - Stinky Goodness

8. Do we celebrate:
A - Christmas
B - Hanukkah
C - Both

9. Which two kitties like to drink from the faucet?

10. What "type" of movie are we all named after?

11. One of us has an Italian nickname, who is it?

12. How many kitties came before us?

13. Which one of us wears a jingle bell?

Bonus Question #1: What breed of woofie is George?

Bonus Question #2: What were the names of the kitties that came before us?

Good luck kitties! We'll try to announce the winners of the trivia contest tomorrow, but it might be Monday!

Please don't forget the final auction ends today at midnight - we'll announce the results tomorrow. Currently Yuki, Kimiko, Kintaro & Momsbusy of Kazoku Neko are in the lead with 12 green papers!

Wordy Wednesday

I feel like we need to explain a bit... I don't want my darling Tazo mad at me, or Asta for that matter!

While I am an attack tuxie when it comes to birds, mice, chipmunks and Pearl - I did not actually attack my Georgie!

I realized that all the kitties and puppies think that I pounced her just for fun, but it's actually one of the pre-nap games that we play. I usually walk on her or pounce her, then after a bit of head wrestling (that's her trying to get my head in her mouth and Mommy yelling at us), we snuggle down for a nice nap!

This how we looked a few minutes after we got done playing. So you can see that I really do love my woofie sister and she doesn't really mind the pounces!

Also, there's been a change on our last auction. Apparently Pepper's website is no longer taking donations, so we will be donating the funds from the auction to Lilly Lu.

Here's an update on the auction for Pepper - Samantha and Mr. Tigger are in the lead - bidding 10 green papers!

And Mommy promised to personalize the albums for the winners, if they would like them. She'll need 11 pictures, so if you want just email the pictures to us at pbandjkitties AT gmail.com. Also make sure to send us your addresses so that we can send you the albums!!

Concatulations all around!

Nope, that's spring too. Well I guess we'll just do this:

Sigh...

Jeepers! We almost forgot to post that we tied for second (with Karen Jo) in the Cat Blogosphere's Squillion Contest! We're so excited, we get a "prize package" - we don't know what that is, but it sure does sound good!

Thinking on Thursday

I'm thinking that I have not been on the bloggie all week! So I'm going to sit here and pout (and nom on some nip)!

Oh! I almost forgot, we're opening up our final auction for Pepper. It's a set of six gift cards, three kitty cards and three woofie cards - all hand made by Mommy. We know that all the kitties have been so wonderful to be giving so much - and it's amazing. And even though Pepper lost her battle with her illness, her vet bills remain. So please give as much as you can. The auction will be open till 9pm (EDT Thursday the 13th.

No really, I'm going to need a little help...

In other news, Bert's darling Mc Tazo gave us a cool award!

We'd like to pass it on to:
Sir Dante and Captain Jack
Chancy and Jake
Goldie and Shade

An update on the auction: Queen Snickers is leading for the round album at 24 green papers and Diamond is leading for the square album at 20 green papers! Both kitties (if they stay in the lead) have bid enough to have Mommy personalize each album for them!
