Thursday Thirteen #14 - A Holiday We Like

It's not that we don't like holidays, but there are a number of them that we don't like. Halloween means that we can't go out and there are people at our door all night long. Christmas and Hanukkah means that Mommy and Daddy go away for a week. And Fourth of July is way too loud for us!

Now Easter, that's a holiday we can get behind - and here's why:

1. Easter means spring is here.
2. Easter is always on a Sunday, which means Mommy and Daddy are home.
3. Easter means eggs!
4. Easter is Mommy's favorite holiday
5. Easter means that it's warmer out so we can go outside.
6. There's lots of chicks around (well, they are usually candy but they're still chick-hens!).
7. Easter is usually just Mommy and Daddy, so it's a nice family day.
8. Easter means HAM or sometimes Lamb!!!!
9. Usually we get new toys for Easter - maybe from the Easter Bunny?
10. Easter is always on a Sunday, which means a big breakfast and Mommy and Daddy always share.
11. Easter means that Mommy and Daddy have dinner in the dining room, so we can try to get on the table.
12. Apparently there's an Easter Bunny, we haven't seen him, but we'd like to find out more about him!
13. Did we mention the HAM!

Oh, and Happy First Day of Spring to everykitty!

I am glad that you like Easter so much and that you can have special time with Mom and Dad. If you watch all night, you might catch a glimpse of the Easter Bunny. I hope you have ham.

I agree...Easter is a holiday I can get behind too! The thoughts of chick-hen and ham on the same day...holy moly! And Spring coming equals windows open and fresh flowers! Yipeeee!! And of course the number one reason, mom and dad are always home on Easter.

My Bean says her Grandmother made a lamb cake every year for Eastern. Now that is something I'd like to see, a lamb cake.

Jake, I would luv to come play Thundering Herds of Elephants!

Yea for Easter, this year we will have Lamb! Last year we had a freak snow storm on Easter but this year is looking to be beautiful. Momma wants to plant flowers this weekend and I may get to go out on my lead and play in the yard with her!

PB&J, I agree that Easter is a nice holiday. But I have a few choice words about the Easter Bunny in my new scathingly-funny book, The World Is Your Litter Box, which will be out May 6th. The book is cleverly disguised as a cute cat book so humans will buy it, but is, in fact, a how-to manual FOR cats. Check it out on my website, www.theworldisyourlitterbox.com. I don't think you'll want to meet the EB after reading about him.

Easter is a pretty good holiday - lots of different food that we don't normally have. I hope you get to see the Easter bunny this year. We don't think he comes to our house ever since Titus' "bunny incident." It wasn't pretty.

Love and whiskie kissies to my Bert!

MomBean's making me say Easter means chocolate, I think that's 'bean-nip' or something...
