Good bye

It's been such a long time since I've been able to blog for the kitties. I've felt guilty about it for ages. It was getting hard after my dad died to find the joy in blogging and then when I moved back out to California, leaving my beloved PB&J behind in Michigan, it made it even harder. I would check in on the blog from time to time and see all the lovely comments, but just never took the time to respond. For all those reasons I needed to say good bye, but I never took the time.

But now there is a real reason, we've lost the J in PB&J. Jake died this morning at 4:30.

He came in from his midnight romp in the garden with Pearl and Bert, had his treats and fell over with what the doctor assumes was a blood clot.

He died quickly and hopefully easily and was with his Daddy who was his most favorite person in the world - it's all we could ask for really.

Now he'll be cremated and laid to rest with the original P & B. His first brother and sister and the cats that raised him from the wee three week old kitten he was when I found him on a street 9 years ago.

So now it's time to say good bye to my lovely Maine Coon ManCat Jake and good bye to all of you wonderful Cat Bloggers. It has been a wonderful journey filled with great friends and fun - I loved laughing and crying with you all.

Mommy's Home!!!!!

Wait, Jake! Do you see that? See that plane up there?! Mommy is on that plane - she's finally coming home!!!!

Yep, Mommy is finally coming home from her really, really long trip to Catifornia. And just in time for my Gotcha Day (even though she missed Pearl's Gotcha Day and My Birthday)!

She said that we shouldn't get our hopes up about blogging - sure we told her all about how it's been more than 8 months since we've been able to blog and visit our friends. But with Mommy losing her job and our Grandma out in Catifornia still being sick she's afraid that she'll still be too busy to help us. But we're crossing our paws that we'll get to visit soon.

We appreciate all the visits and thoughts since we've been gone - and Mommy promises to at least visit a little bit (especially our special kitty friends, I sure do miss my sweet little tea cup Tazo)!

Oh Man!

I had to go to the V-E-T yesterday! Who would have thought? Mommy wasn't home, so how was I supposed to know that Daddy was going to swoop in and grab me and take me off to the V-E-T!?

That big old mean V-E-T said that I was completely healthy and a big strong ManCat. And I made sure to show him by peeing all over them!!! Bwahahahahaha! And then, just to make sure that they got the message I pooped all over the floor and my carrier (Daddy wasn't too thrilled about that part). But at least the nice helper lady cleaned me up and told me how brave I was so I felt better.

Oh, and you shoulda have seen the look on my face when my Mommy got home. Boy did I give her the stink eye! In fact, it was such a fearsome gaze that I broke the camera (Mommy here, there does seem to be a problem with the card, I expect the camera will be fine with a new card - but it was a chilling gaze).

Floofy Friday

But once we catch it, we're gonna take it to Mommy and hopefully she won't abandon us again. Actually we'd probably get her to stay if we didn't bring it back to her! Aw heck, she's probably gonna go to California and leave us here with Daddy anyway - we're gonna give this thing to her anyway!

Wet Weekend

Boy oh boy did we get a lot of rain this weekend - Mommy said that it rained "cats and dogs", but we didn't see any other kitties or pups. But there was a lot of water, see Jake can't even keep his feet dry!


It rained and poured off and on Friday and Saturday, we barely got to out at all. Thankfully there was a bit of a break and Mommy let us out for a bit to enjoy - we were so excited to get some time outside that we actually hung out together!

Wow-Wee

We were gonna make this a Wordless Wednesday, but then we realized that it was too much fun not to tell the story about this little guy.


Bert and I found this guy on Sunday while Mommy was "gardening" (which really means her digging around and throwing things and using words from the bad word list). So Mommy thought she'd take a picture of this toad since he was so cute. But then he jumped and Mommy screamed - really loud, so loud that Daddy came running and had to carry off our toy!

We went on our merry way - out and about in the garden, just enjoying the day. And not long after that we heard another scream! This time Mommy dug up another toad and accidentally touched it. She was so freaked out she ran into the house and finished "gardening" for the day - hee hee hee!!!

Mommy's not really sure how I managed to get banged up, but I did! Hopefully not enough so that I have to go to the V-E-T - just enough to look really ManCatly and tough.

Mad ManCat Monday

Mommy missed my Gotcha Day! She so completely missed it that she had to be reminded by the Cat Blogosphere and all the lovely comments from Saturday! Pearl and Bert kept trying to tell her, but she was just so "bizzy" that she wasn't paying any attention!

There is a spot of good news though, to make up for it I got extra breakfast the last two morning and extra treats. And Mommy has promised that I can have any new toy that I want. So I think I'll just sit here and figure out what toy I want and other ways that she and Daddy can make this up to me.

Let's Get Together

We’re getting together!  All the Mid-West kitties are going to get a chance to meet, oh what's that Mommy? WHAT - it’s just for 'Beins, no kitties at all?!?

Yes kitties, I’m afraid it’s true, the Mid-West 'Beins are getting together in Chicago on May 31st. The current plan is to have an adventure at the Chicago Zoo.

I just wanted to thank every kitty (and woofie, beans, heck efurryone!) that came to my party! It was a great day, and a wonderful weekend - lots of cuddles and treats, just the way to really celebrate a birthday.
